Opportunity Coach: It Is Everywhere, Do You See It?

Choose your path... trust yourself... keep goingI set off for a walk through the 80 degree sun filled Willamette Park around 7pm this evening and found myself comforted standing shoeless and flat footed with my toes occasionally pinching the grass below. I focused on my breath, how incredibly great it feels to breathe in the clear blue skies and sunshine of today.

Moving my awareness to my surroundings, I closed my eyes and focused on the sounds around me… the white noise of Interstate 5 behind me, waves tapping the shore below me, the buzzing of business down at the sailing club to the left of me and to my right, a couple walking their dog, someone on rollerblades gliding by, and in the distance a jet ski at the boat ramp. My goodness, what wonderful things I had to appreciate. I had nearly missed them, and countless others had I not stopped and really appreciated the present moment for what it was, what it IS, right here and now.

This meditative gratuitous state led me to a desire to acknowledge what I had learned, appreciated, and had the opportunity to experience today… I’ve never tried this before, but judging by the opportunities I was able to recall during my walk home, it serves an incredible purpose in identifying what you want, what is already coming to you, and cues you up to align with more of it!

And so I began a moment of self-coaching… Today, incredible opportunities wrapped me up in inspiration and in each moment, I made a choice to be a part of these great moments in my day.

1. I was reawakened to a dream of mine by hearing the vision of another and I have the opportunity to pursue my own passion to create a specialty clothing line today.

2. I was reminded that people need what I have to give and I made the choice today to be more of myself in each moment. I have the opportunity to continue this wonderful feeling.

Write it down, create your life!3. I opened a package from a client to find a toy light saber from Disneyland. I was given the opportunity to use “the force” to propel myself forward. And you can bet, I danced around waving the light saber back and forth. What a feeling!

4. I was complimented and asked if I ever wanted to become a writer. I have the opportunity today to pursue my passion for writing a life changing memoir. I choose to let my light shine and I believe that every step I take today, tomorrow, and the next, will lead me to my vision as a writer. I trust in life – I trust in myself.

5. I was asked to judge for an “inner beauty” pageant out of the blue. I choose to take this opportunity to lift young women up to their brilliance and I welcome more opportunities just like this one.

6. I was able to support a client asking for image consulting advice for her website – I had the opportunity to serve her, utilizing tools, and teachings I had learned from my time working for an image consulting and training firm.

This is just the beginning. It’s only day one and I can only begin to imagine what day 2, 3, or 7 will bring. WCelebrate today! Do what brings you joy!hat opportunities lay at your feet, in your hands, or just above you today? How will you choose to move forward with them? It really is an incredible exercise in awareness that I welcome you to try if you are looking to focus on what you want, define more clearly what you want, appreciate what you have and stay present, allow your goal-oriented mind to create greatness, and love the world your in.

Reach out, smile at someone, say hello, appreciate the small things, and trust yourself. Keep it easy and light – don’t force yourself, just know that opportunity is everywhere, in everyone. You’ve got what it takes – Let it in!
