2010: Out With Old Thoughts And Patterns, In With New Goals, Ideas, and Gratitude!

In 2009 pictures spoke 1,000 words. Thank you for your friendship and support. Turn up your speakers, get in the dancin’ spirit and enjoy this little video I made to recap the year in pictures.

Happy New Year!

It’s time to recap, refresh, renew and say thank you. 2009 filled my life with many opportunities to meet new people, explore various industries, and to inevitably learn more about myself. It seems that every few years I experience a life season that, though particularly challenging at the time, reveals a whole new perspective of the world. Last winter was one of those for me.

I officially completed my life coach training and set out to empower the world. Only there was one minor problem: I didn’t know my niche or how to attract clients for that matter. Couldn’t I just coach anyone? Not really. It’s hard to market yourself as well… God. I needed a specific focus, but like cell phones, tattoos, and relationships, I refused to commit and when I did for the fleeting moment it lasted, I predictably changed my mind. So I dabbled around until I was so dizzy I could hardly stand myself and for my own sanity and to keep from moving home to live with my parents, I accepted a job working with a web and graphic design firm as a Project Manager. I wanted to coach full-time, but it turns out I had a lot to discover about myself first. I just wasn’t at that point yet, nor was I willing to believe that I could spend all of my days doing what I love doing.

I celebrated 27 crazy-wonderful years this year and with every fiber of humility, I announce to you that that I don’t have it all figured out. In fact, I mostly don’t have anything figured out and I am learning to accept it. I am humbled. Something seems to have stuck though, I am taking my own advice and I am stepping up and getting clear about where I’m going and what I want to experience this year.

For starters, I got serious about coaching. I even have a brand spankin’ new website! lacykirkland.com What about my niche you might be wondering? It turns out my many years of experience learning to heal from surgeries and complications to truly build a life worthy of me, has become my life work. We’re all here bouncing around just learning to live in the most comfortable, fulfilling, loving, and joyous way possible, aren’t we? And guess who is responsible for that? My niche is clear now, I am a Wellness and Success Coach. I help people who are sick and want to learn to create a life beyond conditions. And equally exciting, I get to join people on the journey to dreaming, defining, and actualizing what it means to find success in traveling the world, changing careers, returning to college, creating more joy in life, or the countless other ways you define success. I define success in loving relationships, empowering others, and travel. How do you define success?

Thank you for joining me through this unpredictable year. Your presence and support is priceless. Wrap your arms tight around yourself right now and give yourself a big hug from me and feel my love and appreciation fill you up. Seriously, do it… It’ll make you feel good, and with any luck, a little silly too, which I’ve discovered is a lot of fun. May you honor your purpose, uncover your dreams, go skydiving, or at least jump on a shopping cart and ride it through the parking lot for no other reason than it’s a heck of a good time.

Six year old Hannah Cheatham must have been watching me this year when she said, “Life is like a roller coaster. It goes up and down. Makes you scream and it costs a lot to ride.” Yep, that’s about it!

With Love and Gratitude,

Lacy
