This blog has made its way across the country and right to you. I am in Connecticut co-facilitating an image training and personal development seminar with The Winning Edge for about a week. I just walked half the length of Foxwoods Resort Casino on a mission for some good coffee and a topic for this blog post. It’s been awhile! So here’s the deal, when I am on property training I make a particular point to showcase exactly what we teach: professionalism, connection, attraction, magnetic presence and awareness. I said hello to people whose eyes met mine, I smiled, I walked with my head up, full of confidence and purpose. I also have a particular walk that my team coins as “walking with purpose”. You know that walk, right?
On my way, I noticed people looking at me a great deal more than normal. I know, I know. You’re thinking, “So what Lacy, get over yourself, you were dressed in your business clothes and you wore your favorite gray slacks today, of course people are looking at you. People look, we have eyes.”
But seriously, what was it that attracted people to me? Why look at me of all people? What magnetic impression had I created that drew attention my way? And then it occurred to me: we all want connection, we want hope, we want to feel good, we want to know we matter, we want to know we’ve spent our days well. I had something to give and the people around me felt it! I also lined up energetically with exactly the image I was portraying. My mental, emotional and physical attitudes were a perfect match. This, my friends, is what happens when everything lines up.
The power of coaching never felt more clear than in that moment, confidence, connection and coffee in hand. Imagine if we could all tune in as I had this morning? Instead, we live in glimpses of who we really are.
I made it back to my room to complete my training prep and as I look out over the beautiful Connecticut landscape, I realize that in supporting others to achieve their goals and dreams – living in greater alignment with themselves, I too, have done the same.
I feel the love and as I jet off for lunch, I am overflowing with gratitude.
