Here is your weekly digest of “High Five Friday,” a list of things that are adding value to my life or capturing my attention this week.
1. What I'm Celebrating: TODAY I am celebrating the very first day my Wife and I met SIX years ago and the love and dedication we've given to creating a beautiful life together everyday since. My life changed December 14th, 2012 when I got a text from an unknown phone number saying, "Hi, this is your new friend, Maggie. You should come out with us tonight." *insert 3 dancing girl emojis here* Who could pass that up?!
I quickly put on some makeup, my red high heels, black skinny jeans, a brown sleeveless shirt and showed up to the bar my new friend Maggie and our mutual friends were at. We danced, we told stories, we got drinks overlooking the city, we ate VooDoo donuts at 1am, and we laughed so hard we cried. When the night was over, I drove Maggie to her car and told her to text me when she got home so I knew she was safe... We've never stopped texting, calling, talking, and loving life together.
2. What Surprised Me This Week: When I literally write down and make time for the things I want and value and commit to it, it gets done. I also double backed up all of my computer files and phone photos... it took FOREVER, but it's a HUGE relief to know they're backed up TWICE (in two spots: on a hard drive and online). They're safely stored, and I can remove things from my phone and computer for more space. It's a seemingly small thing, that weighed on me and feels so much better now! If you haven't backed up your important files or memories, do it now.
3. New Practice I'm Committed To: OMG, I'm working out again... and *gasp!* I actually kinda like it. I LOVE personal development, human performance and getting the most from life. However, one thing I've struggled with since I went through my surgeries and medical stuff in high school and college, was getting back into fitness in a way that works for me and that I would actually do.
Thanks to our friend, Jenn, Maggie and I learned we can workout at home for 30 minutes each day and get a GREAT workout in and it was pretty easy. I'm all about ease or frankly, I won't do it. We signed up for Beachbody online, we downloaded the app to our phone and we stream fitness classes from our smart TV. (I have no affiliation, or anything with Beachbody, it's just a robust fitness system with a ton of AWESOME workouts that we've loved so far. Tony Horton's workouts are the funniest, which distracts me from the workout.)

5. What I Learned This Week: I learned how to make a beautiful wreath from tree branches cut out in the forest for the holidays thanks to our very talented friend and floral designer, Nicole, who hosted a super fun wreath making party. (The link above will teach you the way I learned to make it). I'm feeling confidently festive as Maggie and I host our first holiday season with family and friends.
